On October 26th, Valley brought their “Water the Flowers, Pray for a Garden" Tour to Midway Music Hall in Edmonton, Canada. After just releasing an album under the same name on August 29, 2024, they are touring this year around North America.
The opener, Renforshort captivated the audience with her voice and stage presence. From Toronto, Renforshort started touring with Valley on October 23rd for the Canadian leg of the tour.
Opening with “Julian, King of Manhattan”, the crowd sang and danced along as she went through her set. Other songs she sang included “hurt like it should” and “getting over you.” At just 22 years old, her energy was undeniable as she sang her songs. As she wrapped up her set, she ended off with “fuck i luv my friends” and “i drive me mad.”
After the opener finished, the crowd cheered as the crew revealed the instruments and changed the stage to a flowery field, recreating the album cover. When the clock hit 9:05, the lights went dark as the band went on stage. Starting off with the album and tour name “Water the Flowers, Pray for a Garden”, the crowd belted out the lyrics as they were dancing to the rhythm of the music. Also from Canada (Toronto), it was Valley’s first Edmonton headline show, and the venue was full of fans with the energy being contagious throughout the night.
The songs they sang throughout the night were from their new and old albums, some of the songs were: “A Little More”, “Break For You”, and “Like 1999”. A little over halfway through the set, Valley got the audience to choose between three songs from their album released in 2019. The crowd decided on “Closer To the Picture” and it was a joy hearing the song live.
The final encore songs they sang to close off the show were “There’s Still a Light In the House” and “Bop Ba”.
Valley’s tour was definitely memorable so you do not want to miss seeing them on tour this year!
