Rock Out At idobi Radio's Summer School This July & August

Eric Tobin (Hopeless Records), Mike Kaminsky (KMGMT), and Kevin Lyman (Warped Tour founder), have come together to create a fresh new touring festival that aims to prioritize new music discovery. The idea for idobi Radio's Summer School was to fill a gap where the founders noticed a developmental deficit for artists in their scene, bands being left to focus solely on supporting other tours and festivals. This first year of the festival highlights some of the most talked about up-and-coming artists in the scene today: Stand Atlantic, Magnolia Park, The Home Team, Scene Queen, Honey Revenge, and Letdown. The founders selected this particular group of bands to highlight the music, diversity of culture, inclusivity, and positivity of the community.

The tour starts July 10th in Cleveland, OH at Agora Ballroom and making stops in Nashville, Dallas, Orlando, Atlanta, Philadelphia, Chicago and more before wrapping up on August 17th in Anaheim, CA at City National Grove. (See full tour poster below.)

The brains behind Summer School wanted to do things differently, making ticket prices as affordable as possible and working solely with independent record labels, artists, venues, and promoters. This will likely mean a smoother and more joyous experience for all involved, as well as opening the door to more fans as the increase of ticket prices these past years has prevented potential new fans from discovering new music.

The festival is specifically championing independent artists, labels and promoters, with 100% of the sponsorship money going to subsidize lower ticket prices,” shared the founders. “All sponsors were chosen based on their ability to support the artists or fans on the tour. idobi is using their vast media reach to boost the profiles of every artist. OneRPM is subsidizing ticket prices, lowering costs for the fans. Hot Topic will not only amplify the festival with its massive marketing reach, but also support the artists involved throughout its vast network of retail stores. It’s important that our sponsors uphold the values of our scene, and we are excited for them to contribute to the community in a meaningful way alongside us.

Presales using code DETENTION started at 10 AM local time (4/2) and run through Thursday, April 4th at 10 PM local time. Tickets will go on sale to the general public this Friday, April 5th, at 9 AM PST
