On June 29th, Hollow Coves brought their sold-out tour “Nothing to Lose” to Vancouver Canada, playing at the Vogue Theatre. Hailing all the way from Gold Coast Australia, the duo returns with an all-new album to perform.
Once the show started, the opening act, Billianne captivated the audience with her beautiful voice. Immediately, the crowd went quiet as her voice echoed in the theatre. Billianne, a singer-songwriter, well known on social media, is a rising song from Milton Ontario, opening for Hollow Coves on the North America tour. She sang her popular songs as well as unreleased music which were a treat for everyone listening. Closing her set, with a few songs left, she sang a cover of Tina Turner’s song “Simply the Best” a version from the hit show Schitt’s Creek and it was nice hearing this version live.
As the band members went on stage to start the show, the audience went wild in excitement to see them and you can tell that the community they had created was welcoming and inviting for new and old fans. To open the set, Hollow Coves sang “Nothing to Lose” and there truly was something special about this concert that was undeniable.
Throughout the show, Chris, the guitarist, delighted the audience by dancing along to every song, while playing the guitar. While the drummer, Tom celebrated his birthday that same day, the duo took a moment for us all to sing Happy Birthday.
As the show was coming to an end, they thanked the audience and started to head backstage for what appeared to be the end of the concert. Wanting more, the crowd started chanting and cheering for them to come back on stage to sing. After a brief intermission, Hollow Coves went back on stage to perform the last two songs of the set “Coastline” and “Milk and Honey”.
As the last song came to an end, the crowd went wild in applause.
Hollow Coves are truly a duo you don’t want to miss hearing live!
