There was a slight chill and rain in the air on Saturday, December 2nd, but that didn't stop fans from attending the Tour Story show at The Loft in downtown Atlanta, GA. The tour featured This Wild Life, Broadside, Worry Club, and Not My Weekend.
While Broadside were direct support for This Wild Life, they stole the show with their enigmatic stage presence and energy. Broadside released their latest album Hotel Bleu on November 9th and played a mix of songs from that album as well as older fan favorites. Most of their songs are upbeat and super fun, but Ollie, lead vocalist for the band, got vulnerable about halfway through the set when they played "I Love You, I Love You, It's Disgusting" and "Bleu." Many of us were dabbing tears from our eyes as we were caught in the emotional tides of "Bleu."
Even during the sadder songs, the crowd was singing along at the top of their lungs and getting swept away to the beat of the music. One of my favorite parts of seeing Broadside is that Ollie always talks to the crowd and gets everyone involved. This was especially true when they played "Dazed & Confused" and he showed off his dance moves! The whole band gets caught up in the moment and looks like they have just as much fun as the fans.
If you didn't have a chance to catch them on this run, never fear! They'll hit the road with Between You & Me in the UK in February and then again on the Covers Only tour with Our Last Night in April and May. You can grab tickets to any of these shows here.
