With the return of live music in 2023, a lot of new artists have been breaking onto the scene. These young artists show us the direction that music is headed, not only using inspiration from some of their favorite artists, but going places that other artists have never gone before with their music. Introducing this month’s trifecta of up-and-coming artists in pop, rock, and indie music, we will be delving into the rhythmic dance beats and artful melodies of indie rock band, The Forum, along with the visionary pop sound of Noël Tsoukalas, and the refreshing yet nostalgic sound of alternative rock band, Thru It All.
The Forum has been making a name for themselves in the indie rock community in their home state of Florida. The band has toured with acts, like Colony House, Tessa Violet, and Last Dinosaurs across the state, attracting a regional following after graduating college in 2018. Gaining momentum in the past few years with their music, The Forum released their latest single, 'reach,' on August 4th. The single has a rock atmosphere reminiscent of the Wombats and Colony House. The indie rock band shares that 'reach' has been a work in progress since 2017 that the band recently dusted off and perfected to release for their listeners this year. The new single reminds listeners of the fan favorite 'When Did Everything Fade?' and moves in the direction of the pop-rock style that has been gaining popularity in 2023. Following this release, the band will focus their attention on studio time and regional touring, starting with Orlando Indie Night on August 25th at The Abbey in Orlando, Florida.
In the world of pop, Noël Tsoukalas has been turning heads with her latest single 'HOBBY' released on July 21st, which she shares on social media was written in two hours. Noël appeared on season 21 of American Idol and draws inspiration from artists like Olivia Rodrigo, Sabrina Carpenter, and Lizzy Mcalpine. Starting her journey with releasing music in 2022, Noël released her debut single, 'The Girl In Your Story,' and she will be taking everyone's playlists with 'HOBBY' and her other release from this year, 'middle of may.' Noël will be continuing her journey by playing a show on August 11th at Ventura Music Hall in Ventura, California. Tickets to the upcoming event can be found here.
