ALL IS YELLOW: Cole Bennett’s Lyrical Lemonade Debuts First Ever Album

Cole Bennett has been a notable visionary force in the music and visual arts landscape, renowned for his groundbreaking contributions to the hip-hop and rap scene through his creative music video direction for artists such as Eminem, Juice WRLD, etc. Cole and his collective, Lyrical Lemonade, have now formed a new prowess that captivates audiences worldwide with their debut album, ALL IS YELLOW.

ALL IS YELLOW Is a well-stringed approach to an evolving creative narrative as Cole and his team worked to captivate a story on a yellow canvas. With featured artists such as Chief Keef, Eminem, Jack Harlow, UMI, Lil Yachty and Gus Dapperton, this album is the pure definition of diverse, genre-bending music. While this album correlates an otherworldly story as Cole states, the 14-track album proves much more then seen by the keen-eye.

With a strong opening on Track 1, “FLY AWAY” featuring background vocals from Sheck Wes, a powerful verse from Ski Mask The Slump God, and a surprising introduction to JID in the final closing verse, this album already proved the well-thought out production basis and goal for the collaborations to come.

One of the more shocking moments in the entire album was Track 3, featuring Chief Keef and Lil Yachty, where the vision of the music video creates a baseline for the interpretation of the entire album. As seen in the continuation of each accompanied video, each artist is seen wearing a black suit with a yellow tie. This is one of the major visionary points Cole wants to portray in his artistic production. This can be seen in each music video currently created for the album such as Track 4 "This My Life," Track 8 "Doomsday," Track 10 "Fallout," Track 11 "Equilibrium," Track 12 "Hello There," and Track 14 "Stop Giving Me Advice." Symbolizing this dystopian world with its core color being yellow, directly compliments the entire aesthetic of Lyrical Lemonade as it has evolved through the years.

"'Bro, like, one request. I need you in this suit.' ...He's like, 'There's no way I'm getting in a suit.' He went back inside, and he's changing, and he goes, 'Cole!' And, he shouts out from the second floor, and he is wearing the suit. - Pan, his manager, was like, 'Yo, you don't know how crazy this is. He doesn't wear suits. We got him that suit for an event, like four years ago for, like, some red-carpet event that he didn't go to because he didn't want to wear the suit.'"

Flowing through the album, Track 5, titled “First Night” is the most-featured collaboration with artists such as Teezo Touchdown, Juicy J, Cochise, Denzel Curry, and Lil B, all having a part on the 3:38 track. With their gritty flow and compliments between each artist, it genuinely was a true shock how well this track formulated as each second passed and how each artist, differentiating in genre, combined to create something recognizably incredible.

Closing out the album, you instantly notice a definitive change in the way the vibe of the songs switch, starting off with a fast-paced punch to slowing into a more melodic and peaceful listen to the albums closing in the final 4 tracks.

This album review is only a mere glimpse into the world Cole aims to create for his audience, and I would highly consider checking out Cole Bennett & Lyrical Lemonade’s newest album ALL IS YELLOW now on all available streaming platforms!
